I am Rick, the Chairman of Harrogate Sub-Aqua Club, and on behalf of all our members, I would like to invite you to find out more about our friendly, active diving club, meet some of the other members, and try and explain why we get so much fun out of diving - both abroad and in the UK . Our website will give you an overview of this friendly and welcoming diving club, the training we offer, the qualifications that can be gained, and the type of diving we do. Harrogate Sub-Aqua Club (also known by our original name of the Yorkshire Underwater Research Group) is one of the oldest diving clubs in the UK with several former members holding national office for the BSAC - the ruling body for the sport of scuba diving in the UK. We have a friendly atmosphere, training equipment, weekly indoor pool sessions two boats a compressor and our own clubhouse complete with a well-stocked bar!
This website will give you an introduction to our history, activities and facilities but by far the best way to find out more about Scuba Diving in Harrogate is to come along and meet us. We welcome divers of all training schemes, including PADI, SSI, SAA and look forward to meeting you and inviting you into one of our activities.
Why not come along and join in at the Hydro every Thursday from 8.00pm till 9.00pm. The simplest training we offer is an 'Introduction to Diving', also known as a 'try-dive' where we will give you some basic instruction and let you experience the thrill of swimming underwater using a scuba system in the Hydro pool. This will help you to decide whether scuba diving is for you, and understand the basic requirements and training schemes.
