12 divers led by the D.O Andy, set of from Aberdeen on the over night ferry to Lerwick for 3 days diving around the Shetlands. And we were not disappointed, with the crew of the Honeydew putting us on the best of the wrecks and reef dives it had to offer. With visabilaty of 20m it was like being in the Med ! After 3 days and 6 dives it was time to leave and head to Orkney, and with a fair wind at our stern and the sun in the sky we made the 11 hour crossing, seeing Minky whale, dolphins and birds diving we were treated to a fantastic day at sea.
After an overnight in Stronsay we did a couple of local dives then headed onwards to enter Scapa flow and the port of Stromness. the next 2 days were on the German Fleet and again 4 fantastic dives with great weather and good vis. The wrecks are changing, and with the SMS Colne looking very different to 2 years ago with lots of deck missing and the control tower laid on the floor.
Big thanks to the Honeydew for the trip and the members for making it another great Harrogate BSAC trip.
